Workforce Training Contra Costa County

Programs offered by Workforce Development Board

At Trinity Center, we are committed to empowering the unsheltered and unstably housed adults of Walnut Creek through our Workforce Development Program. This initiative is specifically designed to provide comprehensive training and employment assistance, preparing individuals for successful careers in various industries.

Eligibility requirements for workforce training

Who Can Apply: Our programs are tailored to meet the needs of adults facing homelessness and financial instability. To be eligible, participants must be currently experiencing housing instability and demonstrate a readiness and commitment to pursuing employment.

Job placement assistance services

We understand that finding a job can be a challenging journey. Therefore, our Workforce Development Program extends job placement assistance to all participants. This includes resume building, interview preparation, and direct connections with local employers.

Training opportunities for specific industries

Targeted Industries: Our training programs focus on industries with high demand for skilled labor, such as construction, hospitality, and healthcare. By aligning our training with market needs, we ensure that participants are equipped with relevant skills that lead to sustainable employment.

Partnerships with local businesses

Collaboration is key to our success. We have established partnerships with local businesses across Contra Costa County to create internship and employment opportunities for our participants. These partnerships not only benefit our workforce trainees but also contribute to the local economy by filling in-demand positions.

Training locations within Contra Costa County

Accessible Training Sites: To make our programs as accessible as possible, training sessions are held at various locations throughout Contra Costa County. These include on-site training at Trinity Center and off-site locations in collaboration with our business partners.

Success stories of individuals completing workforce training

Our program has been a catalyst for transformation in the lives of many. For instance, John, a former participant, successfully transitioned from homelessness to securing a full-time job in construction, thanks to the training and support he received. Stories like John’s inspire us daily and underscore the impact of our Workforce Development Program.

Available funding for workforce training programs

Funding for our workforce training initiatives comes from a mix of public grants, private donations, and partnerships. These resources ensure that we can offer our training and employment assistance services at no cost to the participants.

Skills development workshops

Our curriculum is designed to offer more than just job-specific skills. We host workshops on soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are crucial for personal and professional success. These workshops cater to a holistic development approach, preparing participants for all aspects of employment.

Training curriculum and course offerings

Diverse Learning Opportunities: Our curriculum is crafted to meet the diverse needs and learning preferences of our participants. From hands-on training in specific trades to digital literacy and financial management courses, we strive to offer a wide range of learning opportunities that empower participants towards self-sufficiency and successful careers.

At Trinity Center, our mission goes beyond meeting the immediate needs of Contra Costa County’s unsheltered and unstably housed adults. Through our Workforce Development Program, we aim to provide pathways to durable employment and financial stability, laying the foundation for a more secure and vibrant future for everyone we serve.
