Michael recently celebrated his 10th birthday and asked his mom if he could have a birthday party but instead of gifts, he wanted his guests to bring donations of food to give to people who are hungry. The idea quickly took form and Michael’s friends donated bags and bags of food. Now, his friends and younger brother, David age 8, want to do the same thing.
When we asked Michael what inspired him, he said “watching TV one day, I saw something similar and thought it was a good idea.” Michael’s mother, Erlin, said that he first asked if they could have a garage sale and sell stuff they didn’t need. From that discussion, the birthday party evolved. We look forward to seeing more of Michael, David, and his friends (and parents!)
